3/❓: Significance of Health Literacy Health Literacy is significant because illiteracy is a form of disenfranchisement. Literacy empowers an individual to make informed health decisions, which has a bearing on the reproductive justice tenet of bodily autonomy.

2/ This series will evaluate literacy as a determinant of health in general and of reproductive health in particular and will continue into October, which is Health Literacy Month.
