so fun fact iβve been a dancer since I was 3 and this hand position literally comes from George Balanchine, a legendary choreographer whoβs considered the father of American ballet. theyβre called Balanchine hands and itβs an integral part of American dance technique.
even non-ballet dancers are taught to shape our hands in a similar way bc it looks good and itβs one of the most natural positions for ur fingers to fall in while extending ur arm. sorry g*ylors are just so fuckin annoying

i was a dancer for years and one of my teachers put a bobby pin in between my fingers once to stop me from doing blade hands π

THANK YOU! Finally someone said this. I was in ballet for almost a decade and hamburger hands donβt look good. Miss Swift keeps it elegant
@madiatmidnight
sheβs clearly picked up some good technique considering sheβs been working w some of the best choreographers and dancers in the world for.. letβs seeβ¦ over a decade ? LMAO π

Yup! I was a figure skater for over a decade, and we called these βpretty handsβ! By slightly flexing your middle finger down, hands appear in control and presentable..
