I'm excited to announce the launch of our latest book, Jane's Freedom. Jane's Freedom is an original TrueFiktion comic that helps K-12 students explore the experiences of freedom seekers in New Orleans. https://t.co/q3xDT77vvD

So excited for this! The folks at @true_fiktion do great work!
We are excited to announce the launch of Jane's Freedoms next Saturday 10/15, a comic that tells the story of a self-liberating enslaved woman from New Orleans. Jane's story is drawn from our work on @fotmproject, a crowdsourced digital archive of runaway slave advertisements.

But once you do, you are creating a learning experience that can build trust with your students and give them an excellent opportunity to show some of their intellectual horsepower.

It takes a lot of work to make one page engaging for students and make it a good resource for critical thinking. It can take 30 pictures and citations to make one thing that feels like you actually care about the culture and history of the students you serve.

If the books are getting banned, we shouldn't only get them off the list. We should be making more. There should be so many books out there that no on can hide the truth of our history.
