Why do we move from 1970s technology and a pleasant experience to 21st century technology and having to endure seats that actual make your body ache? The 800s are operationally a good idea. I really feel that the passenger has been largely ignored.

Yesterday, guard gallantly distributed water & biscuits. (Going to the loo was out of the question). The seats are incredibly uncomfortable in 1st & std. From the wonderful comfort of an HST (particularly 1st class) to hard seats and a poor ride is not really progress, is it.

There is no buffet car, so you can only eat when the trolley appears, not when you want to. Not very customer focused and when the train is rammed full, you'd have to pass the trolley over standing customers' heads to serve people. There's so little space for the trolley anyway.
