EA new patent would allow players to voice characters in games themselves
You would input speech and then the tech would replicate your voice for in-game characters
Would you use this? 🤔

i would possibly enjoy this if it was definitely Just Local Data and not fucking used elsewhere, just to fuck around in my own personal game, but considering these are AAA companies like EA im assuming the chances of that is zero.
@tredlocity
there’s no good situation to even use this in. like the ones i can think of are better done by you just speaking yourself or using your imagination just the slightest bit.
@Liseran23
I dunno. Having the character you created speak in your voice (or any voice you entered) in cutscenes sounds like an idea many people would be into.

With the tech being this easy to automate, it's pretty much inevitable. Before long they won't need individual voices to base it off of, they'll be able to create realistic ones on the fly
@tredlocity
No, they'll upload celebrities without permission, thus giving EA plausible deniability when a genetic voice suddenly sounds like Nic Cage.
