I will never understand why the value of a child's life and the tragedy of its death depends on where it was born and who killed it. Never.

אין שום ייאוש בעולם כלל Having said that, if you're fortunate enough to have the ability and the resources to do so, leave now. We cannot even conceive how bad this will become.

Made it with minutes to spare before shkiah. I'll give you one guess as to which quintessentially frum yom tov game we unironically spent hours playing over the next three days.
Heading to frum family for chag on the worst traffic day in recent history, it's so bad there's traffic even on the *Palisades* and my cortisol levels are so high I actually came to this website to try to *calm down*.

Obviously nobody would be better off with Trump's fascism in the Oval Office but let's not kid ourselves about what's happening here. The Dem nominee is talking about her Glock and her staunch capitalism, highlighting her law enforcement credentials and promoting militarism.

Biden moved left on domestic policy because his coalition forced him to. Kamala is deliberately moving her coalition to the right. There's absolutely no reason the 2020 coalition that defeated Trump couldn't be reassembled in 2024 - other than Gaza. https://t.co/mRgD1Rib1I
A lot of people saying this tweet proves Dems can’t be moved left. It’s not saying that at all. It’s saying making them lose isn’t the strategy to do that. Biden was pushed to move left on abortion and debt forgiveness, Obama was moved on gay rights, etc

If Kamala loses it'll be because of Gaza. Not because of a few thousand voters in Michigan, but because her campaign chose to pursue the razor thin margin of center right undecided Liz Cheney voters rather than expand the younger progressive base, all to avoid talking about Gaza.
This isn’t vote shaming. It’s stating a fact. Harris losing will not move the party further left. It will not “teach them a lesson.” I understand why some people feel they can’t vote for her but reckon with the harm electing Trump will cause & don’t pretend her losing will help

"Violence brings only temporary victories; violence, by creating many more social problems than it solves, never brings permanent peace." – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. True and lasting peace cannot be achieved through violence. It may offer short-term results, but it leaves

I just want to say that I very much endorse a "dream of things that never were and ask why not" ethos so if we can find a way to wash clothes that's better for the environment than the current washing machine that'd be great but going back to doing it by hand isn't it.
Ok but counter point, hand washing all your clothes and bedsheets and towels is *brutal*, ask me how I know. Also "communal washing facilities where people can plan to come in groups to do their laundry together while having a chat" already exist, we call them laundromats.

Slight tangent, the fact that Dems moved the Overton window to embrace gun ownership and militarism to keep this coalition of adversaries and outright enemies glued together is short sighted and destructive and will, metaphorically speaking, pun intended, blow up in their faces.
On the one hand this country is more divided than ever before and on the other hand there's a political coalition that includes both Jimmy Carter and Dick Cheney, Stephanie Grisham and Cori Bush, Adam Kinzinger and Taylor Swift, I can go on and on and on. How do you compute this.

"Because I do it with a small boat, I am called a pirate and a thief. You, with a great navy, molest the world and are called an emperor." I think about this story all the time and idk once you see it you can't unsee it.

(Fwiw my response would be the same, in both scenarios it's either terror or a war crime and possibly both.)

I have a lot of questions about the pager story but mostly this: whether you justify it or condemn it now, had Hezbollah targeted Israeli soldiers the same way, and the soldiers were home on leave or otherwise among civilians, would your response be the same as it is now?
