Two days of productive discussions at our EPP Political Assembly. Defence, Ukraine, housing, tackling illegal migration, competitiveness - our focus remains on the key challenges ahead & the real concerns of the people. Determined to deliver ans build a better tomorrow for all.

We were pleased to welcome @EP_President Roberta Metsola to the Political Assembly, where she emphasized the responsibility to empower people to look to the future with confidence: security, opportunity, a job to look forward to, a home, a bit of savings at the end of the month.

Christmas belongs at home and home must be affordable. At our final 2025 Political Assembly, delegates put the housing crisis front and centre, sharing real solutions from the local to the European level. We want a Europe where everyone can have a place to call home.

In São Paulo at the IDC, we got things done. 🇧🇷 Together with our allies, the EPP doubled down on support for Ukraine, advanced the call for a just and lasting peace, and actively confronted populists and extremists to champion democratic, practical solutions.

We all want peace—but it must be just, lasting, and never dictated by Putin! No: a war criminal cannot be rewarded for his terror — not by giving up Ukrainian territory, not with any amnesty, not by limiting Ukraine’s sovereign right to choose its partners. This is unacceptable!

The EPP leadership held an online summit today to discuss recent developments. The EPP has always stood — and will continue to stand — with Ukraine in its fight for freedom and sovereignty.

These are historic moments. This is not only about Ukraine — it’s about Europe’s security. Peace must be lasting: 1. Ukraine must decide on its territory, free from pressure. 2. Ukraine must be strengthened, not weakened. 3. We must upgrade EU to European NATO.

The digital euro is a major strategic project for Europe. At their meeting, the EPP ECOFIN Ministers, co-chaired by @VDombrovskis and @Paschald, discussed the opportunities and implications of introducing a digital euro.

Ten years ago, terror struck Paris. The French capital was attacked, and the world mourned together. Today, our hearts go out to the victims and their loved ones. As we honor a nation’s resilience, we also reaffirm our collective stand against terrorism in all its forms.
