I spy a level up for @TomasAlcala! Now the Interim Deputy Chief of Staff to the Miami-Dade Mayor, Tomas is one of the kindest and hardest working people I know. Miami-Dade County is lucky to have him in this leadership role.

I am so proud to announce that a bipartisan group of twenty-five mayors from across Miami-Dade have officially endorsed our campaign. That’s 75% of all the mayors in the county!

I met with Haitian elected officials and community leaders. I was able to share the positive impact of our parole processes and also address their questions and concerns. We benefit from the exchange of information and the open dialogue.

Like Floridians across the state, Miami-Dade residents are experiencing the burden of an unstable property insurance market—compounded by an affordability crisis. I strongly urge the Florida legislature to take urgent action to stabilize the market and provide much-needed relief.

Today, I convened the mayors of 30 cities and municipalities to address our local affordability crisis. Across the County, we are laser-focused on identifying collaborative solutions to ensure all residents can continue to live, work, and thrive in Miami-Dade.

In the face of enormous difficulty, our community has risen above again and again to reach new heights. I know our future is bright by the unyielding kindness, hard work, and optimism I’ve seen over the last year. Today, we celebrate all we have done and all we will do together.

Tonight, the @MiamiDadeBCC overwhelmingly approved my administration’s first fiscal year budget. It's a historic budget we can all be proud of. It’s balanced, maintaining critical services & making key investments in our economic recovery & prosperity—all without raising taxes.

Over the last few weeks we’ve seen an alarming rise in COVID cases across our community. Our positivity is now over 10% & hospitalizations are continuing to increase – with growing numbers of otherwise perfectly healthy, almost all unvaccinated people ending up in the hospital.
