This project has a *30* *minute* tour video and I watched the entire thing, riveted: https://t.co/lWLkwiD1fH Several years ago I got in contact with @mholt6 about @timelinize. I had worked on @PerkeepOrg and @attic, which had similar goals, so we had a lot to discuss. All of

The irony of this is not lost on us
PooTube has removed our intro video due to "harassment and cyberbullying" despite that everything shown is randomly-generated fake data. We've sent an appeal but it's just a button-click, no way to explain this to @TeamYouTube

This is the official account for Timelinize. There are fake accounts manipulated by bot rings that have lots more followers and posts and are desperate for money. We are not desperate for money. Please do not engage them... report them if you see them.

Might've just unlocked 100x speedup by optimizing a query in a hot path during imports. Or might've just introduced a bug. Testing will tell!

Soon, you'll be able to customize imports. This is helpful for updating items and avoiding duplicates. For example, in this screenshot, we might combine photo libraries from both Google and Apple in this way to avoid duplicates and keep the highest-quality data.

I’ve just updated builds and docs for @timelinize. The updated instructions should make it much easier to get started:

We've improved DB performance by batching inserts, deleting unnecessary indexes (almost all of them, in fact), and using transactions. The overall import process is pipelined maximize I/O concurrency separately from DB writes.
