The new version of Safari will let users "erase" parts of web pages (like ads) that they don't like. This will have the greatest impact on sites with heavy repeat readership - probably News sites hit worst of all. Sorry journalism, Apple DGAF about you.

@thomasgermain For a long, long time, ads did not pop up in journalism, let alone in color with moving parts. This was the domain of TV

@thomasgermain A European publisher could easily open a DSA case against them -- Apple is a "gatekeeper" so would need to have an "App Store Eraser" to let users zap the crappy and/or deceptive ads in their own App Store at the same time
