I want to go back to the days of good sports journalism and not this say controversial things “hot takes” culture. Have to be and do better. It’s why I’ll always advocate for trained sports journalists.

@therealknelson You know I cover tech news, but as a diehard sports fan, I have many, many, many thoughts on stuff like this.

@therealknelson Everyone wants to be a sports media personality instead of a sportswriter/analyst/commentator

@therealknelson The business is going away from it. I feel like we’ve reached a point of no return. But we gonna keep on trucking. 😊

@therealknelson It was a hot take, but he gave a pretty nuanced explanation of why he thinks Dak sucks. His explanation is what people thought Dak’s weaknesses were in college.

@therealknelson Aren’t these people all washed athletes? The networks think we want to hear players talk. Most of them are BAD. Even many of the pro analysts aren’t great. You’re right, a good analyst is gold. Don’t need trollers from Hitner to Steven A.

@therealknelson I 💯 agree. Everything is clickbait anymore and a slap in the face to all the journalists that work so hard to do top notch work. The hours put in by reporters, especially best writers, is completely overlooked. It’s a different world right now and here’s me hoping for change.

@therealknelson Me too. This Twitter IRL is gross. It’s not just media types either. It’s players talking about other players too. It’s all 🤮

@therealknelson U can make that argument 4 #journalism as a whole. I'll always have a love 4 the craft, but when I look @ what newsrooms have become n this day & age, I don't c a place 4 me. Walking away from the profession remains the hardest thing I've ever done ... but I don't regret it.
