Tomorrow marks my first year anniversary in VGC. When I rocked up at Witney not knowing anyone, never having played a single game of OTS or bo3 and thinking I'd be too old at 29 and it'd probably just be a one off I couldn't have imagined the year that would follow. A thread 🧵

The community is special, all genders, all races, all religions, all sexualities. All of you. Please put the effort in to make all your friends feel special, look out for eachother, drive out the bad apples. Lets not have any drama in VGC26 yeah? (6/6).

more women will come to the game too. And they, like everyone, deserve to be treated with the utmost respect. It's not hard, but it's essential. Here's to all the amazing women in the game, and I'm hoping the community learns a big lesson from my friends bravery. (5/6).

The fact there are people, who are popular in the scene, who could be forcing them away and causing trauma by being inappropriate is simply unacceptable. There is no place for abusers. There are unlimited spaces for Women. As the game continues to grow, naturally (4/6).

Look out for your female friends, and women in the community as a whole. They could be going through anything - ask them how they are, confirm they feel safe and comfortable, make sure they feel welcome, safe and part of the community. (3/6).

Frankly disgusted and terrified me. It is not becoming of the community which is broadly incredible, and needs to be stomped out at the earliest opportunity. Lucie and Llum phrased it far more eloquently than I ever could, but the short version is (2/6).

Thinking about the incredibly brave and important threads by @delucieous and @llumdepalau. If you haven't read them - you should. Pokémon is an incredibly special community to me and to discover someone who I considered a friend had been making women feel unsafe (1/6).

I am truly grateful for everything this game has given me, not only because it's a hobby I'm half decent at, but also because of all the brilliant people. Going to need everyone next season if I'm going to make it and I couldn't have better people around me ❤️.

Just reposting this seeming it's end of season reflection day on here. In the past month something has really grown in me and I feel like next season I may really want to push for an invite. I'll have at most 5 majors so gonna need to lock in but I think I can do it. (1/2).

Can't believe we didn't get any circuit info at NAIC btw, I want to know whether I'm going to be try harding next season 😅.
