The latest work from our lab answers a question we have been asked many times. Why do mammalian cells uptake bacteriophage? The quick answer - cells are eating the phages! See below for details on this work that was led by our PhD graduate @marion_bichet

And to wrap up our lab's contribution to this year's @AUSSOCMIC meeting: @NandoGordillo shared his story on phage-antibiotic synergy against Acinetobacter baumannii. He's doing his best to bring this one to clinical use! #asm2021 #phage

The lab's latest preprint is out! Beautiful work led by @chinhoe589 demonstrates phage evolution directed towards a mammalian mucosa. There's a little bit for everyone: microfluidics, evolutionary and phage biology, glycomics, and more. Go check it out!

First PhD paper is out on @bioxrivpreprint! We showed that bacteriophages evolve and adapt directly to a mammalian mucosa, suggesting a novel trans-domain evolutionary axis! This took 3 years of coffee, microfluidics, experimental evolution & of course, phages! ⬇️Thread below⬇️🥳

It was great to contribute to this issue of #cobiot x2. Our PhDs Sofia Dahlman and Laura Avellaneda wrote about using phages to shape the gut microbiota https://t.co/h2LBYVv92j and Fernando Gordillo about the importance of phage receptor identification

Last month @marion_bichet from our lab published her 1st paper of her PhD! Using real-time microscopy we demonstrate the uptake of phages by a range of human cells. We suggest cell layers of the body are an un-recognised sink for phages during therapy https://t.co/bfjosvkehj
