Countdown to Heatwave 8/16: Scorched Caldera 🌋. Halfway there!. Vita Nova's crowning achievement, restore a cloud forest in the middle of a volcano. This one ended up having an amazing lake event, just be careful of the water walking frogs.

Countdown to Heatwave 7/16: Continental Outskirts 🌆. Another Vita Nova map, this one as an introduction to some of the man-made elements later in the game. Building bamboo nurseries in abandoned skyscrapers using renewable geothermal power has never felt so good.

Countdown to Heatwave 6/16: Abandoned Quarry . The first of the alternate maps from the original game. We're proud of the visual storytelling with this one. Even though a lot of you just decided to turn it into a volcano.

Countdown to Heatwave 5/16: Volcanic Glacier 🏔️. The third map from the original game, dramatic and filled with both snow and lava. The first map where proper manipulation of the climate was necessary. And the aurora looks fantastic.

Countdown to Heatwave 4/16: Desolate Island. The second map from the original game, and perhaps the most visually stunning when restored. A tropical island replete with rain forest, beaches, mangroves and coral reefs.

Countdown to Heatwave 3/16: Polluted Bay. Another Vita Nova map, where a large estuary finds its way to the coast. This one introduced tidal power and the unique challenges of not having wind turbines.

Countdown to Heatwave 2/16: Hill and Dale 🌲. We added this in the Vita Nova update so players could have more time in the temperate region. Scattered peaks and valleys form lakes connected by rivers.

Terra Nil Heatwave is coming this summer, so we thought we'd usher it in with some timelapses! 🔊. Countdown to Heatwave 1/16: River valley. Back to where it all began, the first ever Terra Nil map. A secluded valley bisected by a mighty river, once dry, is now full of life.
