The genre of pro-choice tweet that's essentially reinventing marriage is really kind of heartbreaking: it's so clear that what they want *is* marriage, but they don't even know that that's what they should and can really expect of life, of themselves, of their partners.
[angrily] "What are we supposed to do, expect people to love each other and be committed to each other and be happy with each other and not abandon each other and not be lonely?"
"And just... like... have that be the NORM? Like, when you have sex with someone it kind of carries all these EXPECTATIONS of loyalty and good behavior? And you're saying that this would be for EVERYBODY, not just rich people?"

They think having a child and marriage are punishments and don’t want men to get away scot-free if they can’t get out of their obligation to have the child.

This is such a thoughtful and charitable take. People expecting to get pregnant & be abandoned is a plague, but not a plague that voters have put on us: it’s one we’ve invited into our lives w/loneliness and brokenness.
