All of these listed above had to take a step back from their group activities to take care of their mental health (except from Jihyo, but she wrote a letter about it). Acknowleding what's wrong and finally getting some treatment is a huge step and we should be glad for them.

However, these began to surface after one person made it public and then another and then another. There are probably many other unknown cases in the k-pop industry, probably because of the idol being embarrassed by it or the label wanting to keep it under wraps.

A few idols have been in hiatus for quite some time with the fans not knowing the cause, like Jungwoo from NCT and Yanan from Pentagon, so we can only speculate if it is due to mental health issues or not.

Of course we can't forget to mention Jonghyun and Sulli, who continuously talked about their mental health and, unfortunately, were taken from us by it. A lot of others have talked about it as well, but I think this is the first time the labels actually decided to make it public

Seeing how many idols are affected by this, only makes it clearer that this should be talked about. There's something seriously wrong in this industry that's making idols suffer mentally and phisically, when they decided to pursue this career to make their dreams come true.

And while the labels talking about it and getting their idols the treatment they deserve is already something, they should've been getting this kind of counseling as soon as they start as trainees, giving the amount of pressure and trouble they go through.

Look, I'm just a k-pop stan, I don't have any power in me, but seeing my idols suffering makes me really upset and angry. We need to talk about it and demand the labels for the right treatment for their idols, instead of just tweeting "get better soon!", because this can't go on.
