With all that's hampered with the lack of communication and road issues now, you have to wonder how they navigated this after Gilbert esp with no highways.

We are on the right path. For people travelling down. The Newell High school is a base if you need somewhere to just drive to and drop off. People are there or link me if you need a contact. #Hurricane #Melisaa

As we continue working with our partner agencies, please see a list of communities in South West St.Elizabeth that may need additional support if you’re in a position to assist. Thank you for your help thus far ❤️🇯🇲

Those clothes you're going to fit into when you lose the weight? Donate them. (This is also a message to myself)

#Update There is now a route from Lacovia to Burnt Savanah to Knoxwood to Mountainside. That can also lead you Black River but there is still a lot of water at Fullerswood.

Also while you’re there look out for the kids who are just wondering about the place unsupervised. Pedophiles don’t go on a break, they are opportunistic! Yesterday I saw a lady having to curse out a man telling him the girl is just 14 and him laugh and drive off. Sigh 😔

@suebellaC Yes. Salt spray and storm surge wreak havoc. There's a nice explanation here from the University of Florida on how to handle it in your yard.

One week after Hurricane Milton and on the final day of the rainy season, October 15th, I look out over our Educational Outreach Garden and see a landscape transformed. Lush and vibrant just a week...

Some people a use this as an opportunity fi get ridda some ole bruks that not even Salvation Army did want. Don't do it. Used stuff is fine, but Jamaican people no matter how poor still have pride.

Everywhere is brown, with flood waters still trapped
My cousin in St.E said that the trees look like somebody just sprayed Gramaxone everywhere and I also was wondering why the trees looked like that. This morning I learnt (via Twitter) that it's called Desiccation. The storm sucked all the moisture from the trees.

@suebellaC Salt water incursion in certain parts of the country also causes a ‘burning’ effect on plant life and can damage arable soil for years limiting crop production.

I agree 100% Stay in Kingston and collect and hand over. Now is not the time for road trips. Honestly.
All these friend groups need to stop planning road trips for relief delivery and hand over the donations to more established groups like ODPEM and Food for the Poor. This is now beyond you if you don't have security.

One thing me realize from early Inna life. You either ago accept reality and make it work fi you or change reality. Wha you cyaa change you adapt to. Simple. The faster you realize that the faster you become happy
