@coffeespoonie You may/may not need to go in-person to the station, depending on the precinct, to get any reports the cops filed. Get statements from anyone who was there that will write one for you & make copies. If you get medical care for this, get copies of those records. 2/

@coffeespoonie If possible when you've recovered sufficiently, try to take the information in these tweets as documentation of the incident. Contact the police department who harassed & injured you. Tell them you want to file a complaint against the officers & a government claim for damages. 1/

@coffeespoonie You can & should contact your state rep & senator offices to have them also complain on your behalf. Typically the rep or senator has a website with info on their staff assigned to this kind of work. You may wish to complain to your state's AG office &/or local DA. 3/

@coffeespoonie I'm so sorry this happened. Police are not trained in de-escalation or crisis management. They're considered soft-skills by most departments nationwide. You shouldn't have to do anything, but if you want to, then I recommend doing as much as you can to hold them accountable. 4/
