For this “Three Over Four” warmup solo, I find a tempo that I can play triplets on the bass drum and then double those triplets with the left hand on the snare, that ostinato is in 4/4. With the right hand I’ll play in 3/4 over the 4/4 ostinato. More here: https://t.co/4LVF6PGDBw

Using the @vicfirth 5A Dual Tone Mallets this solo showcases the rich tones of the @sonordrumco Vintage kit. Intro theme is based on a Right-lead Blushda phrase followed by Left-lead Blushsa phrase. The solo is improvised with only that theme as a starting point. @ZildjianCompany

In September 2024, I spent an evening at The Clubhouse in Rhinebeck, NY, playing some unaccompanied drum solos to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of @sonordrumc. “Stick On Stick Theme” is based on an Alan Dawson 6-note, paradiddle-diddle, stick-on-stick phrase: RLRRFF.
