Anyone reading that who wasn't up to speed on trans issues might reasonably conclude that cis men were being allowed to stay at a formerly women-only shelter, and quite rightly think that's outrageous.

Only that's not what she meant. She wasn't complaining about cis men being allowed in a women's shelter. She was complaining about trans women being allowed in a women's shelter. But she never explicitly said that, she only spoke in fucking TERF code.

What work are the scare quotes doing here? Those you call "trans women" are indeed male. That means they are members of the sex that produce small gametes and has historically abused members of the other sex known as 'female'.

I don't think terfs realize (or care) how vital trans people are to mens/womens rights and proof of how differently society treats them. There's a MASSIVE change in how you get treated after transitioning, in my experience. It's a valuable viewpoint they are missing out on.
