Massive respect to the hundreds of singers, orchestral & band musicians, composers, arrangers, sound engineers, organisers and assistants responsible for today’s music. This is something at which we genuinely are world-leading - and will, I hope, remain so. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

@stephenm68 @hhyouthjazz It was stunning. How the oboe player kept his lip through all the pre-service music I don’t know. He must have lips of steel.

@stephenm68 We don't have to claim to be "world-leading", an unprovable assertion but also unnecessary. We're just good at it.

@CourtenayIlbert I would argue that in this specific kind of musical occasion it’s a fair description. I didn’t say world-beating. Nothing needs to be beaten other than time.

@annief1 I agree that in most contexts that phrase is pretty annoying. But in the specific context of today’s music it’s entirely apt.

@stephenm68 To say nothing of the Stage Managers - now that is one show I would have loved to cue! 'Stand by Orb' 'Orb - Go!'

@stephenm68 Wonderful music, special mention of the deeply spiritual Greek orthodox chanting of the Byzantine Chant Ensemble under the aegis of @ALLingas . Was truly wonderful

@stephenm68 It is a shame that the Arts Council of England despises this. And that learning this craft is currently only open to those of upper-middle-class families with lots of spare wealth.

@stephenm68 A stunning sing by the young choristers. The mastering of the music. Wonder how many pencil marks on their music. πŸ™‚
