This morning in @Haaretz – our story on the planned eviction of Palestinians to make way for a waste-to-energy plant near Jerusalem. The project would demolish homes, shift the separation barrier, and seize 150 dunams of village land. Our report: https://t.co/p2D7MkO5N4

IDF soldiers recount using Palestinians as human shields, killing aid seekers, firing a tank shell at a man doing laundry. “The brigade rabbi sat down and spent half an hour explaining [...] that we must take revenge on all of them, including civilians."

This heart breaking piece, written from a former insider's point of view, explains an awful lot of the background to this week's debacle at the BBC: https://t.co/CDDfDSqceH

Irish football legend Nial Quinn on Newstalk praising the FAI vote to bring a motion to UEFA calling on it to expel Israel. "Through the power of sport, we can actually talk and have a loud voice." Apartheid Israel cannot continue to harm Palestinians with impunity. #BanIsrael

The Telegraph has published its "editorial view" on the recent BBC resignations, claiming that they want "to ask legitimate questions about the accuracy of its journalism". If only The Telegraph would hold their own reporting to the same standards. Earlier this year The

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms. He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

"I had problems that were truly bizarre with David Grossman... who had drawn up a dossier trying to find anything to attack me with." @lewis_goodall recalls an "unpleasant" experience at the BBC, describing the intense scrutiny he faced from a boss after alleged impartiality.

Deborah Turness had been steering the SS BBC in the right direction (the far right direction, some might say). But she wasn't steaming fast enough. Very good piece about the palace coup that has left the BBC in chaos. https://t.co/MtwEtqLK4L

"Anyone who thinks this is about a 12-second clip on a Panorama more than a year ago that not a single viewer complained about is not reading the proper story,” said one. “What’s going on here is much more about macro politics.” https://t.co/xQ5TuSauLS

1/10 Let me tell you about the time I let my wee brother down when I was eight and he was six. I still think about it a lot. Not in a good way… We moved to Carryduff in 1969, to a bungalow bang where McDonald’s now is on the Saintfield Road. It meant changing schools.

I have still not met anyone on here with a history of trans concern that predates the current Daily Mail/Fox News-mandated moral panic. I keep trying to find someone, but I can’t. So many people silent for years. So many people coincidentally got angry at once. Funny that.

Why can't the BBC just be impartial towards President Trump, like GB News, asks Nigel Farage. GB News:

10/10 I’ve a lot of memories of Carryduff. But when I drive by that McDonald’s I always think of this one thing. And I wonder if it’s not high time I told Mark I’m sorry. Maybe I’ll do it tomorrow. After all this time somebody needs their knuckles rapped. And it’s not Mark.

9/10 I admired him for it, but I didn’t tell him because it would have underscored my inaction. Cowardice even. And I kind of held on to the hope he thought I’d deliberately been the sensible big brother. But looking back, we both knew I hadn’t. We both knew I’d let him down.

8/10 That evening at home not much was said. But Mark wasn’t in trouble. I don’t know what was said when our ma brought Mark in next day and had a chat with someone in the office. We never put our arms on the table again. But Mark didn’t get his knuckles cracked. So to me he won.
