Not enough is being said about the political background that encouraged the PO senior execs to put profits before the needs of their own people. The Tory’s wanted to privatise the PO and RM as they distrusted their public service roots. Bit like the water and rail industries.
@mrjamesob @mikegalsworthy What on Earth is he on about. The PO scandal was initiated when the then Tory Gov pushed through making the PO a Ltd co and hiving off the profitable Royal Mail part. What they did was give free reign to the PO to do what they wanted with no scrutiny until it was too late.
