An entire show can predominantly be about one thing but characters better never verbally observe its prevalence over their entire lives, as fantasy is about appropriating real world issues not confronting them within the internal world of the characters directly effected.
I dislike it very much when writers make characters speak with the snark of a 21st century woman.
