We are deeply saddened by the tragedy at the Lapu-Lapu Day block party. Our hearts go out to the entire Filipino community and all those affected by this senseless act of violence. 🙏🏼
A number of people have been killed and multiple others are injured after a driver drove into a crowd at a street festival at E. 41st Avenue and Fraser shortly after 8 p.m. tonight. The driver is in custody. We will provide more information as the investigation unfolds.

Today, Sikhs in BC and around the world celebrate Vaisakhi. This is one of the holiest days for Sikhs - it marks the creation of the Khalsa and celebrates the spring harvest. In Surrey, one of the biggest Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtans will happen this Saturday, April 19. Happy Vaisakhi!
