It's with a heavy heart I tell you all that one of our beloved community members, Gertis, has passed away this morning after a prolonged battle with cancer and surgical complications. He stands the farthest on the right with the Shift shirt (continued)
For 3 amazing years, Gertis was one of my greatest supporters as I pursued my personal dream, and a great friend to many, including myself. His generosity is largely part why I'm able to do what I do today. Needless to say, he's impacted my life in an overwhelmingly positive way,
and today I wish for our community to silently reflect on how Gertis impacted their own lives as well. This game and community were things he held near and dear throughout his life battling depression, and in even moments before he passed. It would mean the world to him knowing
we reached greater heights than we ever believed possible following the release of Rehydrated, a game he unfortunately was never able to watch or play. 2 days from now, I ask for you to keep him in your thoughts as you enjoy this game largely product of the passion he and
countless others expressed for an obscure title we truly believed in. Gertis was able to see these dreams unfold before falling ill, and he passed away surrounded by love from his immediate and online families. May he rest in peace.

May he fly high and always be remembered by everyone. He seemed like a great person even though I never knew him. Condolences to everyone who did know him

He sounds like he was an incredibly passionate and heartfelt person. It’s a shame to hear about this loss. I’ll certainly keep him and the passion he had for this community in mind when I boot up Rehydrated on Tuesday.
Rest In Peace Gertis.
