Today is the 15th anniversary of a very significant macroburst and tornadic event for us here in Brooklyn and Queens! My area was one of the worst affected, and I had my camera rolling as it hit. @NWSNewYorkNY #nywx

Random note.....40 years ago today, August 30th 1985 we were hit here in Queens with the storm that sparked my fascination with the weather. It was a microburst that wrecked a good portion of my neighborhood. Similar to what occurred again in 2010.

Severe storms ripped through NYC yesterday afternoon with some pretty powerful winds and torrential rain. Up next is the intense heat wave for the Northeast next week, hoping for a few pop up storms here and there to briefly cool us down, but not looking to likely right now.

Relaxing today after being on the road for 2 weeks chasing storms and thumbing through my June 1985 copy of Weatherwise magazine! This issue is 40 years old now. Yikes how fast time flies.

Video from our Chase on May 25th near Dickens / Haskell, TX. The lightning was truly incredible with these storms, and I utilized a rented A9 III to capture some of that lightning with no rolling shutter! https://t.co/gGufAVOFOH

Pretty sure we got a dusty cone near Dickens, TX yesterday around 5pm. Definitely a great Chase to cap off the 2025 season for us. And the lightning last night was unreal! Beginning the long drive back to NYC today. Photo from my Chase partner Dave Lewison on below.

Tomorrow is the 21st anniversary of one of my most memorable chases, the cyclic supercell that produced multiple tornadoes including the Attica, KS tornado on May 12th, 2004. I recently upscaled my video from that day. https://t.co/ubKE37svbF

So I know people have claimed to see Jesus on random objects, even food items. Well I guess the Easter Bunny has decided to pay an early visit to my house cuz when I opened up our tub of Domino Sugar that hasn't been touched in about 3 months, there he is staring me in the face.

Well that's something you don't see everyday, a Day 2 SPC High Risk. Definitely a rarity. Safe travels to all those who will be chasing tomorrow. And for all those who live in the risk area, please pay close attention to the weather tomorrow.
