⚠️ My first paper has been published! ⚠️ My honours work using #DNA to identify #shark species sold as flake in fish&chip shops in #SouthAustralia We are hoping that our research will provide insight 👀 about how umbrella terms ☂️ can ‘take-away’ consumers choice 🍽️ ⬇️ Link

How cool is this sensor pack we have had on the @IMOS_AUS Bonney mooring for last 3 years. Ocean currents, thermistor temperature string through 100m of water, CTDs, Ocean acidification PLUS cross shelf CTD profiles to 200m, microplastic sampling, acoustic curtains and wave buoys

How do we quantify fish diversity and abundance at the Neptune Islands? We use #BRUVS, aka baited cameras. This allows us to look beyond the focal species of shark cage-diving and monitor non-target species @InsideNatGeo @SAEnvirWater @Mollie_Owens_ @sasha_whitmarsh

We published and standardised the Australian Shark-Incident Database (formerly Australian Shark Attack File). This comprehensive database can help researchers to analyse shark-bite trends to help reduce these tragic events in the future. Read it here: https://t.co/LqbDWHfCpa

Congrats to @TMClarke95 for another PhD chapter published. His latest study shows that non-target species (e.g. kingfish) can also be affected by shark-diving tourism https://t.co/lnlkuKC86R @MEPS_IR @FlindersMarine

To celebrate my first intertidal survey in almost five years it seems fitting to publish a new #snailtales #13 Austrocochlea constricta. If you look closely you can see their raised, strong spiral ribs that makes them easy to identify when completing field surveys.

On this day one year ago we lost the amazing Professor Peter Fairweather. Fearsome, brilliant, and an incredible mentor. What better way to remember his legacy than by sharing a picture of his favourite intertidal snail!
