Thank you BBC Radio London for having me on to talk about how more mums are finding their tribe through The @MotherhoodGroup and our Blackmums App. It’s always a blessing to share how we’re building spaces for Black mothers to connect, feel seen, and get the support they deserve.

Still buzzing. I saw myself on a billboard — and it hit differently. From building safe spaces for Black mothers to creating AI-powered platforms that connect communities, this journey has been anything but easy. But it’s been purpose-driven every single step of the way. cc.

You’ve likely seen them: spaces where you’re assumed competent, where your pain is believed, and your voice isn’t politicised. We’re just asking for the same, not less, not more.

The difference? Black mothers face the highest maternal mortality rates in the UK and US — and are often dismissed or judged in parenting. Love is universal. The system’s treatment isn’t.

Absolutely — and yet studies show Black mothers are less likely to feel heard, safe, or respected in maternal care. Equality isn’t assuming experiences are the same, it’s ensuring everyone gets what they need.
