Drama teachers are lucky as so often we can show what we’re trying to teach. When you introduce a drama game, play it. When explaining an improv exercise, do it. Don’t be shy to join in, even if you’re a terrible actor your students will be so grateful that you tried.

When 609 parents, students, and teachers were asked if drama helps with social skills, 95.7% said that it does. Many jobs need you to have good social skills, which leads me to think that teaching drama in schools helps with employability.

I have dyslexia and at school felt like I was the problem, except for in drama. There I felt like a part of the solution, because in drama thinking outside of the box, imagination, failure, and non-written communication skills are celebrated!
