Yall think it’s hyperbole when ppl are saying there’s cops everywhere but no theres literally 4-5 cops at every station. Not just that but NYPD cars nearly every other block. They have whole stations that take up entire neighborhood streets and theyre posted up in restaurants too

People don’t realize there’s a whole transit police unit, police stations inside some train stations and thousands of officers who patrol the subway? Undercover cops in the stations and on trains? Police with machine guns and bomb sniffing dogs at the most popular hubs?
@sailorfemme
Also, the courts have ruled that police officers don't have the duty to protect people. See Lozito vs. New York City for a relevant example of police doing nothing during a attack on a NYC subway
@sailorfemme
There are 112 cops PER SQUARE MILE of this city. Yet, somehow, this wasn't in their wheelhouse to prevent, address or stop in real time. Even let the shooter flee bc the CAPTAIN who was on the train didn't stop all trains at that station. The incompetence.

@AMythicWitch
A militarized police force ready to put down any rebellion or uprise before the national guard & the army has to be brought in.
@sailorfemme
the NYPD exists to increase property values in the city by punishing homeless and low income people. rich people, especially those from the 80s, love the massive police presence because gentrification was their idea

At this point the NYPD should just absorb us all so we are all cops. Frankly, I could do with the salary, pension, overtime pay, endless free hours to play candy crush. Every shooting will be officer involved, zero unemployment…
