Really enjoyed being there today to see Tony Rinehart present a $150,000 check from Ford to the new Northland Career Center. The development of the new Northland Career has been one of the coolest things I’ve been a part of in politics by a mile. Northlanders get things done!

100 years later, the combined total is only about 663,000. Geographically, Kansas City is really big. (319 square miles) Our population needs to grow in order to provide good basic services.
The population of the 2 Kansas Cities is almost 500K, according to the census bureau.

I really enjoyed the @kcdowntowners lunch last week. Monica Brady, an owner of @thedubkc, a sports bar dedicated to women’s sports, presented the backstory on their concept & an update on the timeline to open. It will be a big time add for our city.

The Boom in the Bottoms is happening all weekend. I am down here for work and it’s already busy this morning. Definitely worth the trip to check out great vintage shopping, live music and local food, distilleries and breweries.

There’s still time to check out KC’s World Refugee Day Celebration at Garrison Community Center. We may be a mid-size city far from an ocean but we are a global city with a lot to offer. Just wait for the World Cup. And no matter where you are from, you are welcome in KC!
