In Kenya, the total mental health expenditure per person is just over Ksh 3 (Mental Health Atlas 2017); and there are only 0.19 mental health workers per 100,000 population.

@robi_chacha The government and @MOH_Kenya has not invested in mental health at all. There are only a few hospitals equipped with the staff and infrastructure to address mental well-being.

@robi_chacha mental health was a pandemic before COVID19. All of us know someone who: 1. took their own life 2. is addicted to something (alcohol, sex, betting etc) 3. has mentally disconnected from family & community & isolated themselves. Talks to themselves more than they talk to others
