Or… OR…
It costs too damn much to buy food, so people are buying less.
Call me crazy, but the simplest explanation is often the correct one.
Popular drugs used to suppress appetites such as Ozempic and Wegovy might be causing an economic impact at some large retailers who say that people are buying less food at the grocery store, impacting their bottom line.

They raised prices during covid and higher gas prices because they could. Lower product content and jacked prices and have no intention of reducing unless forced.

It doesn't cost that much to buy food, people are just lazy and don't want to cook. I can do a food price breakdown with anyone and show anyone on snap can buy 2-3 months worth of groceries on 1 month of snap.

Using customer data from people who get their Ozempic prescriptions filled at Wal Mart, they’ve figured out that those customers are buying fewer groceries than they did before, and fewer than those not on Ozempic.

It can be both but why ignore the elephant in the room? Big box stores are upset that less people want to be obese because they’re more worried about profit.
