THREAD🧵--> For weeks, I've been tracking the scientific debate about whether we need masks to prevent transmission of the virus causing #COVID19 and whether it is #airborne. If you're confused, you are not alone. Stick with me here. Let's clear the air. 1/15

My latest story in @TheAtlantic You have heard of Duchenne muscular dystrophy — what you, and even many doctors, might not know is that it can affect girls. How generations of girls and women with certain genetic diseases were overlooked: https://t.co/z5PqC2WN3r

Africa's foreign debt passed $1.1 trillion last year. The #SummitOfTheFuture is an opportunity for the int'l community to address this crushing debt to allow govts enough fiscal space to spend adequately on health care, education and social protection. https://t.co/twcmbUnb7b

Crushing obligations to foreign creditors that have few precedents have sapped numerous African nations of growth and stoked social instability.

.@USDA reports another 3 dairy herds infected with #H5N1 #birdflu. They're in Colorado, South Dakota & Texas. Sounds like there may be 3 more Colorado herds in the testing pipeline, because the state numbers its confirmations sequentially & today's herd is #56.
