Meanwhile those same profit-driven motivations were the ones that inspired stockpiling/price gouging of unused vaccines which in turn allows the virus to continue mutating unchecked in places without the resources to vaccinate or effectively lockdown.

Businesses and the government keep telling people they have to work in order to pay rent/bills/etc., then don’t actually make safety measures accessible bc that would impact THEIR profit, and then blame the people who can’t AFFORD to stop working for spread. Sincerely, FUCK that.

they even tried to make a push for things along the lines of “post-pandemic luxury purchases” like… anything marketed along the lines of “for seeing friends/family/trips/etc again” toward the end of summer and beginning of fall. The pandemic was Not Done. they don’t give a shit

@rfarrowster I had to go back to work in July 2020. I was on unemployment and unless I lied and said that I still had no job offers, then I could have lost my unemployment even though I was fully uncomfortable with going back to work.

@rfarrowster The best part is they (capital owners) sucks so bad at business they would rather a short term gain of now instead of a hard lockdown and paying us to stay indoors and ending this or getting it stable in like … 6 months lol. Perfect system no flaws at all.

@rfarrowster It pisses me off So. Much. That capitalism at this point has become such a bloated thing on such fragile support beams (which are only supporting the tippy top, essentially) that it literally cannot hit the pause button. It’s THAT inefficient. AND human life isn’t valuable to it?
