Pokémon knows their audience is a bunch of tired worn out millennials who like weird creepy shit and nostalgia and buckwild nonsensical humor. They fuckin nailed it.
Points at this tired MC who had childhood dreams of being a Pokémon trainer and had to grow up and leave that dream behind to make it in the real world.
They know us.

Because it's always been Nintendo who's been good at the broad marketing. They've basically written the book on marketing to all audiences (having had their share of failures in this much earlier in the game than modern companies)

I also love how the premise is like “Look even if you aren’t the millennials who were once Pokémon fans or the new much younger fans, we still have Ryan Reynolds as a Detective cute animal so you can watch it for that.”

We were all promised adventure and victory and a happy ending and at best all we have is mediocrity and frustration for following the morals or favorite shows instilled in us. And while we'll still stand by those morals, we're still not thrilled to be here.
