The general public needs to know that there is a tsunami of lab workforce shortage even before the CoVID-19 pandemic & it is for real & it will only get worse… Thank you Dr. @BnrdG Dr. @RodneyRohde @katerodgers @CNBC for advocating the med lab profession.
The demand for Covid tests has skyrocketed as the virus spreads across the nation. But many of the medical labs that process the tests are having trouble keeping up because their workers are catching Covid too. @katerogers has the details.

Test setting and patient population also play an important role in determining test performance….
There are numerous antigen tests for #SARSCoV2 under EUAs, including laboratory-based, POCT, DTC/OTC tests. @rex_mls reminds us that #antigen tests for SARS-CoV2 are not as sensitive as molecular tests & thus require a higher viral load to be detected. #ASCP2021 #COVID19
