The evidence proving that abortion bans are deadly is irrefutable, and it cannot be ignored. We MUST listen to our medical experts who are telling us over and over in no uncertain terms: ABORTION BANS KILL.

What's happening in Texas CANNOT be ignored. This bill could severely limit the availability of medication abortion—even in states where abortion is legal. As @ReproRights's Marc Hearron says here, “Texas is sort of the tip of the spear. It’s setting up a clash.”.
Breaking News: Texas lawmakers moved to curtail the mailing of abortion medications from out of state, allowing nearly anyone to sue and collect cash awards.

Did you know? .📉Texas accounts for nearly 10% of U.S. births. And yet is ranked 49th–50th nationwide in reproductive healthcare access & coverage. 👩🏽⚕️On top of that, more than 70% of OB-GYNs in Texas say the abortion bans stop them from giving safe, high-quality care. #TXBanWeek.

Texas: Land of the free! . Also Texas: We want you to surveil your neighbor, see if they've missed their period, snoop through their trash and mail, and sue whoever sent them medication abortion.

Private citizens could sue out-of-state abortion pill providers under the bill, the same approach as Senate Bill 8 from 2021.

Instead of working to fix the devastating health care crisis they’ve created, Texas lawmakers are doubling down with another abortion ban, another attack on Texans’ health, dignity, and lives. We CANNOT let this stand. #TXBanWeek.
Abortion is ALREADY banned in Texas, but extremist lawmakers are still finding new ways to make care harder to get.

Kaitlyn knows the dangers of Texas’s abortion bans far too well. She’s had to navigate the confusing laws during three separate complications, one of which left her in the ICU, where doctors said she was lucky she hadn’t lost her uterus. Read more of her story below. #TXBanWeek.

As Texas proposes yet *another* ban—one that would encourage private citizens to sue anyone who manufactures, distributes, or provide medication abortion to someone in Texas—our client Kaitlyn Kash is speaking out. #TXBanWeek

Texas lawmakers have built a maze of overlapping abortion bans that push providers out of state & force patients to flee their homes for care. This #TXBanWeek, we must remember that these laws affect REAL people every day:.

Texans deserve better—but due to the state’s extreme abortion bans, people are being denied health care, providers are being pushed out, and many, like our client Dani, are leaving because they are rightfully scared of being pregnant in Texas. #TXBanWeek.

"Taking away health care from thousands of people in rural communities as punishment for also providing abortion care shows how far anti-abortion policymakers are willing to go.” —Nancy Northup, President and CEO at @ReproRights.

Many of @FPAMaine's clinics provide care in very rural areas of Maine where there are NO OTHER health care providers. Around 70% of their patients rely EXCLUSIVELY on MFP and will not see any other health care provider in a given year.

Approx. 8,000 patients get family planning and primary care at @FPAMaine's 18 clinics and mobile unit every year, and tens of thousands of additional patients receive care through MFP’s subcontracts at other clinics across the state.

Some background: Congress rescinded MFP's Medicaid funding through Trump’s so-called “big, beautiful bill” because the clinics also provide abortion care, even though no federal Medicaid funds are used for that. That’s when we swiftly took action.

This ruling blocks @FPAMaine from receiving Medicaid reimbursement, meaning our clients will be forced to turn away ALL of their primary care patients by the end of October. They may have to close clinics, cut other services, or severely limit the number of patients served, too.
