Yes, one of the really "fun" ordeals and perks of the job. The friend who took me around the course that rainy day was the former men's club captain, Chris Smith, a wonderful, funny man-about-town in Carnoustie. Sadly died a few years ago, while playing the course he loved.
@rcamcole You wrote a great story after this one Cam. Went out to where Van de Velde’s divot was and took on the shot if I remember correctly.
