@quicksave2k - I don't know who is waiting for compatibility mode, because looking over the list of restrictions, it is a completely useless upgrade over WebGL. I do not get the impression this is informed by actual on-the-ground experience in building or porting code. I don't believe Unity

@unconed 1. Given the web is a portable platform, we want WebGPU developers to have the same reach as WebGL, assuming they can manage the constraints of the hardware and APIs involved. 2. For canvas, it's not an additional copy, but we reuse the image that's in Chrome's compositor.
