i'm completely heartbroken, but also deeply grateful he was able to share his music with the world for so long. his impact was so strong for so many people, it's really comforting to see

his music is foundational to my life. i endlessly listened to 1996, Chasm, and Playing the Piano in high school. they shaped who i am and brought warmth and tenderness and confident experimentation to my own craft.

i listened to LOL endlessly before i discovered he composed it, wanted to direct a drama scene to the theme of gohatto, listened to comica and tony takitani when i felt alone...like, he wrote the soundtrack to my early life.
i'm really going to miss him
