Worth remembering that in Sogdian, the term tāzīkānē əxšāwan 'the Tajik Realm' is attested to refer to the Abbasid Empire, e.g. (Yoshida, Yutaka 2020. 'Studies of the Karabalgasun Inscription: Edition of the Sogdian Version', p. 19):

Old news, but not commonly known - the Tibetan word for ‘Persian’ (language) is tazig-gi skad, or the language of the tazig, i.e. tāzī, tājīk, 大食 (dai-źik), տաճիկ (tačik), ‘Arab’ > ‘Muslim’ > ‘Persian-speaking Muslim’.
