If governments really wanted to fight the ill of caste, there is a far simpler way: make caste endogamy - especially upper caste ones - expensive. I’d wager it’d yield better results than reservation, even.

@puram_politics Highly fascist solution. Caste endogamy is on wane in upper castes, particularly in cities. What if this solution is applied to your group of castes. There would be none available to avail of reservation benefits.
