Getting back to normal life means understanding what COVID-19 immunity really is

Let’s learn to accept that the goal of COVID vaccines is to prevent severe and not mild illness, and stop talking about frequent boosting.

@profvrr @DrPaulOffit I said to @hjelle_brian this AM in they layperson's mind, an epidemic has only 3 stages. Before, during, and after. Language used by professionals becomes a reference to "after" and it's not after yet.

@profvrr @DrPaulOffit For many people it is just not true that "a few days of fever, cough, congestion, and fatigue" is all you get. Quite possibly additional boosters will not solve this problem, but it does no credit to scientists to minimise it.

@profvrr @DrPaulOffit Article is a bad take. Until infection rates go down, life won't be normal. Pretending doesn't count. Sweden has a 5th shot. Israel is considering a 5th also. #CovidIsNotOver #minimizer .
