#Phosphorus nutrition reminder... It works. But its response can take years to recognize! These check strips took 3 years to show significant detriment on low P, calcium loaded, basic pH, irrigated soil. Year 4 was >50% yield loss. #agronomy

WOW, the canola stubble from last year is EMPTY!!! If you don't soil test, it's not too late. With N ~$0.80-0.90/lb, why guess at one of your biggest inputs?!

Very impressed with how our MetaZones are progressing. We will see how much stability the EC makes in them in short order.

Perks of helping farms with manure management planning, is touring amazing barns! 🤩 Poop-rumba, robotics, very clean, and super high tech.

Every farm has different goals. Anyone working with a farmer, should know those goals, pending there’s trust there to share, to do their best. It’s not always more acres.
Controversial take of the day: It’s not for everyone but I made the conscious choice 13 years ago to work towards being able to cover next years inputs with this years cashflow In other words trying to get away from operating debt which seems to be a hot topic right now By

Great day today! Thanks @Stampseeds @wtfuturespod @blairbalog @stampgreg One of the most frequent questions we get is, “what variety should we grow?”.

The above is a few that I’d compliment or add to the list. Local is important! Rotation is a variable as is past management, manure/compost. We’ll spend the rest of our lengthy careers looking for products that work with repeatability that doesn’t deteriorate our soil.

Worth the read. What’s in the product? Do you have real R&D?Not a side-by-side pic of good and bad plants essentially saying “It must work!”. Who is in the company & how long have they been there? Ag is a small world. Great post @voss_ag
"This product will bump your yield by 10 bu" "You can cut your rates by 25% by using this" "1 lbs of this is like 10 lbs of urea" The ag industry is full of products that will "help" you make money. Lets discuss how you can sort through some of product claims. 🧵

Today’s soil sampling project brought to you by the backdrop of sweet grass “mountains”. All hands on deck this time of year.

Most farms all-in cost of $400-500/ac. Pea yields at 80bu are exceptional. Off combine price floating around $7/bu. Globally, we're flush with grains. High nutrient removal year, record spread in commodities to fert... it's going to be an interesting planning season for 2026! 😬

Another farm scale trial between conventional vs hybrid rye. Over the scale, just shy of 25bu better on the hybrid. On sandy Marsden SK dryland. More than enough to justify the seed cost. @hybridryegirl

This is easily the hardest pea harvest I’ve seen in over 20 years as a whole. Good news is, there’s lots of bushels.

Some days you get to the office early. Didn’t want to wake the kids with coffee machine, so McDs it was! ☕️ Side note - I need to clean my windshield 😂
