The creator in the video is openly autistic & even says so here.
Phone calls are hard for many autistic folks. She scripts what she plans to say, hypes herself up for the call, and powers thru her nerves to take care of herself.
Just say you hate autistic people.
It’s quicker.
@pot8um
I agree with what you are saying except for the last sentence of your tweet. I don't think icup knows that she's Autistic. So, how cany he hate autistic people if said person didn't know if she is autistic? I don't think you have to hate Autistic People to shit on GenZ Folk.
@MatthewTabian95
The creator in the video said the words “I’m autistic” in the video, quite literally explaining why this is a big deal for her.
The person who tweeted this has no excuse. This isn’t a Gen Z thing. It’s an autistic thing.
Signed, an autistic millennial
@pot8um
I think he means "Im so random" is becoming "Im so autistic". Due to gen z making out Autism is quirky and not something that causes alot of issue for many people.
@femcelgirlfren
Hi, I am exactly like this girl here who looks like a totally normal adult girl but has autism.
I have cried and have had full blown panic attacks that when I was younger left me in the hospital, over simple things like phone calls like this.
Leave our daily struggles alone.
@pot8um
Yeah this is really unfair. She’s autistic. My autistic GF has a ton of trouble with phone calls so I just help her and do them for her. It’s unfair when people shit on someone for something they can’t control
@pot8um
I'm 41 and have ADHD. Not diagnosed autistic but certainly possible/probable. My oldest daughter is. Anyway, I'm technically a Millennial and I have struggled with phone calls/appointments/meetings etc... for my entire life and still do.
@pot8um
“She made a video about it.”
Yeah. Because she’s a TikTok creator. That’s her main job I believe? And she makes videos BECAUSE people don’t get it.
@pot8um
Ppl would be like "it's ok to have anxiety but u can't expect the world to coddle you, you have to work thru the fear" even though that's not even how it works for autistic people, but when an autistic person works thru the fear, ppl get unsettled and annoyed.
@pot8um
I've had more years than this young lady to pretend to have my shit together & I also worked professionally in a very people orientated position yet I still struggle with phone calls. I dread them. I do it, but I don't like it at all. I feel anxious & awkward. I fake being calm.
