Either - she was really pleased with how she appears in it as a heroic figure and wanted to endorse that really positive wagtail rep -
or -
it was sooo cold she was hoping we would feed her as payment.

I wish I could say it was a magic touch or my years of chatting to them paid off but I think it was just really cold and therefore willing to hang out in case we were going to offer tasty snacks. At one point it was less than a foot from my hand. Wish we'd taken bird food.

I'm always trying to get one to pose with its reflection when the lake is still, when I have my camera on - 99 times out of 100 they stand in the right spot just when I've pulled a top over my head, or started to take my pants off or something - so this felt like a miracle!
