Another carer who’s had to return thousands overpaid to him by the DWP - George had to sell his house and told me his life’s ruined. He changed to Carers Allowance from a diff benefit just 30p a week lower (which he didn’t need to declare his job for):

I’ve been following the case of Vivienne Groom from Tarvin, Cheshire - one of thousands overpaid Carers Allowance - prosecuted and lost £16k inheritance for a job at Co-op. Anon DWP worker said the dept has “no excuse” for failing to stop big overpayments:
