The crack was anticipated, but the scale of the resulting potential rockfall was larger than anticipated. The contractor is implementing an emergency closure of W Burnside in both directions while the rock mass is removed.

SW Tichner Drive, between West Burnside and SW Kingston, remains closed to vehicle traffic due to continued risk of additional debris falling on the roadway. Pedestrians can use the north sidewalk on SW Tichner Drive. People biking may also walk their bikes on the sidewalk.
